Frequently asked questions
What people ask most about CodeItRaw. If your question is not here, write to us from the Contact page.
What is CodeItRaw?
A game platform where you learn programming and algorithms by writing code and watching, step by step, what it does. You steer a robot through a maze, repair faulty code, query a database and race your friends.
Does it cost anything?
No. Every level and every mode is free.
Which languages can I use?
Python and JavaScript work in every code level. C++ can be used in the function problems of the Path. There are also separate modes for SQL, HTML and CSS, terminal commands and Git.
I have never written code. Where do I start?
With the Basics topic on the Path. Functions, conditions, loops and lists: short levels that each teach one idea.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play as a guest; your progress is kept in your browser. An account is needed to carry progress between devices, enter the rankings, play Clash and collect certificates.
Do I have to install anything?
No. Your code runs in your browser; there is nothing to set up.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, though writing code is far more comfortable on a computer. A phone is fine for reading levels, the code-reading questions and the daily streak.
Can I play without internet?
Yes. The Offline page downloads the game to your device. What you solve in Python and JavaScript levels is sent to your account once you are connected.
What if I solve things with AI?
Use it as you like to learn. But the rankings and races are for code you write yourself: a pasted solution counts as progress and is not ranked. The details are under Fair play in the Terms.
Where is my data kept?
In the European Union (Frankfurt). No advertising, no tracking. You can download or permanently delete your account and data from Settings.
